A bridge too far for Rangers A

Postby norwichtilidie » Mon Mar 02, 2009 9:59 am

This week we travelled to Waveney A to face Craig & the boys in the cup semi-final, In a tight first half, both teams played some quality football in such a tense affair, with the game too-ing and fro-ing from end to end Waveney gained first blood with some quality football down the Rangers right with a quality pass, put in the waveney player on the Rangers left who made no mistake 1-0 Waveney, Rangers lifted themselves after the dissapointment, and kept pressing & frustrating the Waveney lads, then Waveney gave away a free kick, Mitch takes the perfect free kick then bosh the perfect header and we`re back into it 1-1, then some more quality play and phew its half time.

The second half is played in very much the same manner, but back come Waveney to exploit Rangers failure to clear the ball in their own box leaving our keeper with no chance 2-1 Waveney.

But the boys lifted their game once more & pressed for the equaliser, i feel we had them on the rack for at least 8-10 minutes constantly bombarding their half but to no avail as the Waveney boys held firm, and in typical Waveney style they broke away with Rangers pressing, to kill off any chance off a come back with another well taken goal final score 3-1.

All in all a very good effort lads, we just lacked that something special this week, nothing ran for us this week which does happen from time to time, but you all made me really proud to reach the Semi`s, in our cup run this season we have played some top quality football & showed true courage & passion which is what its all about for me, today i thought your discipline was top notch when we could of easily let it slip, well done lads we must regroup & get back on the training ground and work even harder then i`m sure we will succeed.

Congratulations to the Waveney lads who showed why they are where they are today, i feel we gave you a game but next time we`ll try and give you a match well done, Craig well done m8 good game & good luck in the Final, i`ll be there to watch again

Thanks to all from Waveney for a quality match, Thanks to the Ref Keith.

Big shout to all the Rangers lads & supporters for your valued support, sorry no final appearance  but i`m sure you will agree our boys did us PROUD :D

We have received this email via Chris Dunne (Rangers club secretary) from Keith Marsham ( Ref, fixture sec, NCFC scout)

Hi Chris
Please forward my thanks to the very sporting and enthusiastic supporters and management of your U10A side. They were applauding and supporting both sides in a very good game of football. It was nice to see parents of opposite sides giving encouragement to players. It does make a change.

winning isn't everything.

it`s just that losing really sucks.
