Gorleston Rangers FC
19th Annual 5-a-aide competition

We would like to thank Lynn Grove VA High School for hosting the tournament, Paul Moughton of Moughton Engineering Services for his generous support and the Great Yarmouth Mercury for our media partnership, all of which have greatly assisted in enhancing the good reputation and public profile of our annual tournament.

Also, we would like to thank our individual team managers and sponsors for their support throughout the 2006/07 season, as well as committee members, friends, associates and referees for their continued support in making this event possible.

Special thanks to the parents and friends that got to the venue at 6am on Sunday to carry out emergency repairs to the car park entrance after the storm on Saturday, but for the actions of these people the event would have been cancelled on Sunday.

Gorleston Rangers Football Club is one of the founder members of the Norfolk & Suffolk Youth League. Formed in 1984 with only one side, today we have nearly forty boys and girls teams ranging from under 5’s through to under 16’s. As you can imagine the cost of running these teams is very high and we are always looking to raise funds. We are pleased to announce that the FA Charter Development Club status that we achieved in 2003 has recently been renewed.

At Gorleston Rangers FC we really do try to make football available to all youngsters in the area that wish to play, our annual 5-a-side has for many years been identified by the club as being the main opportunity to raise funds for the clubs continued existence, enabling us to continue this ethos.

Once again the success of this year’s tournament will allow us to keep the signing on fees for youngsters wishing to play football for the club at a minimum.

We thank all of this year’s 201 tournament entrants for their support and look forward to seeing you all again next year.
